NAGZIRA WILDLIFE SANCTUARY This picturesque Nagzira wildlife sanctuary is blessed with abundant vegetation and is the natural habitat of 34 species of mammals, 166 species of reptiles and 4 species of amphibians. A wide variety of insects, ants and butterflies also abound in these forests.
Nagzira wildlife habitat consists mostly of tigers, panthers, bison, sambar, nilgai, chital, wild boar, sloth bears and wild dogs.
Navegaon National Park (50km), Itiadoh dam (65km), the Tibetan camp at Gothangaon (60 km) and Pratapgad (70 km) are the other tourist attractions in close proximity to the sanctuary.

Flora:
Ain, Dhavda, Bija, Garari, Tinsa, Tendu and Surya, Teak and Bamboo.
Fauna:
The animals commonly spotted are Tigers, Panthers, Leopards, Bisons, Sloth Bears, Sambar, Four-Headed Antelope, Blue Bull, Chital, Barking Deers, Mouse Deers, Civet Cats, Jackals, Jungle Cats, Spotted Hyena, and Hare. Among the birds that are prominent and commonly seen are Peafowl, the Grey Jungle Fowl and the Red Spur Fowl.

Weather
For most of the year, temperatures are moderate and pleasant. The best time to visit is during April and May.
